Zoom Video Communications, Google
2022 - Present
Summary
In the spirit of hybrid workplaces and collaboration, there are several video conferencing platforms that are available for organizations or facilities to use. While there are several options out there, there has been friction in connecting organizations to their customers and business partners due to the different platforms that each party may use.
Zoom Rooms partnered with Google Meet to enable bi-directional interoperability, which means meetings hosted on Google Meet will be available on Zoom Rooms, and meetings hosted on Zoom will be available on Google Meet Hardware.

Problem
Zoom Rooms users are experiencing friction when trying to connect with customers or business partners that use different video conferencing platforms, such as Google Meet. This is frustrating and overwhelming for users, since switching platforms wastes time, and the user needs to re-adjust to an unfamiliar video conferencing platform.
Solution
By enabling bi-directional interoperability between Zoom Rooms and Google Meet, this will increase product usage and adoption for both Zoom and Google Meet, and it will eliminate the need for Zoom and Google Meet users to context switch or re-learn a new video conferencing platform when meeting with others.
Approach
For this project, I collaborated closely with Google Meet product team, Zoom engineers, strategized for feature parity on both Meet and Zoom platforms, and designed the UI for Google Meet calls on Zoom Rooms hardware.
